Constance E. "Connie" Schrader, 82, a longtime resident of Mahoningtown, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, November 17, 2025, in UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Connie was born on July 12, 1943, in Catawissa, PA, a daughter of Allen G. and Winifred M. (Hartman) Whalen. She was a member of the final graduating class from Catawissa High School in June of 1962.

She retired upon the closing of Sears in Union Twp., where she had worked as a salesclerk and was affectionately known as the "Paint Lady." She had previously worked as a waitress and bartender, ultimately becoming the manager at King's Inn, where she was beloved by coworkers and patrons alike.

Connie enjoyed taking loved ones to restaurants for their birthday and trips to the casino with her family and friends. Her greatest joy, however, was being a grandmother to her seven grandchildren and great-grandson.

Connie is survived by a son, Brian Rishel (Julie), Horsham, PA; a daughter, Lynn Keller (Joe), of Union Twp.; seven grandchildren, Joey Keller (Dana), Cody Keller (Fernanda), Damien Rishel, Andrew Keller, Abbie Keller, Savannah Rishel, and Ryleigh Rishel; a great-grandson, Brett Keller; two sisters, Marilyn Davis (Randy) and Sharon Hoy (John); a brother, David Whalen (Val); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her beloved cat, "Z."

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held by her family at a later date.

Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Catawissa, PA.
