It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Constance Rose Streble on February 9, 2026.

Born on November 6, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, Constance was one of nine children. Her childhood consisted of large family activities and gatherings to which she would carry throughout her life.

Connie graduated from Mentor High School and remained a local resident, specifically making Chardon home most of her life.

Though wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother are the most honorable titles she has ever worn. Being a team member of Elk + Elk and McMaster-Carr companies were two additional roles she enjoyed in life.

A skilled skier in her adult years, she was named Ski Queen of the High-Rise Ski Club. Connie found great joy on the slopes, skiing both locally and across the country, enjoying the beauty of mountainous structures like that of Lake Tahoe.

Her appreciation for nature and travel was evident throughout her life. She and Chuck would take their children on camping trips and fun adventures to places around Lake Erie. After her family was grown, she and Wayne hiked the trails of numerous national parks, explored the beauty and history of Washington by train, and traveled to Canada and various countries within Europe.

Connie and Wayne also appreciated the majestic sounds and performances of The Cleveland Orchestra. As loyal ticket holders, they delighted in evenings dressed for the occasion, sharing dinner, music, and the simple pleasure of being together.

With a love for fashion, Connie brought style and grace to her everyday life. She carried herself with timeless class and elegance. That same warmth and attention to detail filled her home, where she delighted in decorating and hosting family and friends. Every meal and table setting was lovingly prepared, making guests feel as though they were enjoying an evening at an exquisite restaurant. Fourth of July celebrations at “Aunt Connie’s” became cherished traditions that the immediate and extended family looked forward to year after year.

In her later years, Connie was a devoted member of Claridon Congregational Church. Her Catholic faith, formed in childhood and strengthened during her first marriage, remained an important foundation in her life. She passed those beliefs and her trust in God on to her children. Her steadfast faith carried her through life’s hardships, including the loss of her first husband.

Connie’s passing leaves a hole in the hearts of her family and friends, but her legacy of love and strength will continue to be a light on their darkest days.
