Obituary of Cora LaTourette
Cora Mae LaTourette, 101, passed away peacefully on hospice care on March 9, 2025, at her home in Great Meadows, NJ.
Cora was born on November 9, 1923, in Blairstown, NJ, to the late Samuel and Myrtle "Van Scoten" Smith. She grew up in Blairstown before moving to Hampton, NJ. Cora was a dedicated homemaker throughout her life. Her family owned a dairy farm, and Cora actively participated in the daily chores.
Cora cherished her family above all else, and her legacy lives on through her 114 grand, great, and great-great-grandchildren. Known for her adventurous spirit, she continued to ride her own snowmobile at the age of 85.
She is survived by her children, Harold LaTourette (Ruthann), Alvah "Herk" LaTourette (Edla), Beverly Meixell, and Richard LaTourette; grandchildren, Ronnie, Brian, Shelly, Raymond Jr., Jennifer, Nicki, Tommy, Wendy, Sheila, Nicki, Jay, Tammy, Tracy, Jay, Cheryl, Jodi and Jaime, 50 great-grandchildren, and 45 great-great-grandchildren; and very close friends she considered family, Daisy Martenez and her children Jesus and Stephanie She was preceded in death by her children, Susan Jones, Cora LaTourette, and Martin LaTourette; her sister Alberta Mucklin; and her two grandsons Billy LaTourette, Ryan Dalrymple.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 2-3 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will begin at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Warren Hills Memorial Home.
