In Loving Memory of Corene Allen Bland
January 3, 1933 - August 23, 2025

With deep love and cherished memories, the family of Corene Allen Bland announces her passing on August 23, 2025, at the age of 92.

Born on January 3, 1933, to Curtis and Beatrice Allen, Corene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by her strength, unwavering dedication, spunky personality, and unconditional love. She married the love of her life, Stanley Bland, on July 15, 1950,and they were married 56 years. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith and family.
For 28 years, Corene served as a school secretary at Lee Junior High School in the Madison County School District, retiring in 1995. In 1991, she was honored by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce as Secretary of the Year, a recognition that reflected the respect and admiration of all who worked with her.

Corene's true joy was found in her family. She is survived by her children Marcia Webb (George) of Lee, FL, and Curt Bland of Lee, FL. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Lori Newman (Isaac) of Madison, FL; Beth Nickel (Jason) of Memphis, TN; Darren Webb (Marsha) of Madison, FL; Brad Bishop (Brittany) of Wesley Chapel, FL; and Haley Williams (Bruce) of Apalachicola, FL. She was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Caden Newman, Emma Grace Newman, Micah Newman, Caroline Nickel, Jack Fargason, Reagan Webb, Sophie Nickel, Ramsey Webb, Elaina Bishop, Kristof Nickel, and Reid Bishop - each of whom she treasured deeply.

Corene is also survived by her beloved twin sister Florene Butler, sisters Janice Martin and her twin Joyce Freeman, and brother Lester Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Bland, son Dale Bland, daughter Debra Bishop, son-in-law John Bishop, her parents, and brother P.J. Allen, and sister Sandra McCammon.

Her hands were rarely idle - Corene loved sewing, cooking, and especially fishing. But above all, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family, sharing stories, laughter, and love across generations. Her home was a sanctuary, filled with warmth, lots of laughs, good food, and open arms. Corene's legacy is one of faith and family. She lived a life of purpose, devoted to her Lord and her loved ones and her memory will be cherished always.

Funeral services in celebration of Corene's life will be held at 3:00PM on Tuesday August 26, 2025 in The Burns Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Madison with Sammy Hires officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lee Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
