Corey T. Buckley

Corey T. Buckley, 31, of Minooka, died Saturday at home after a tragic fireworks accident.

Born in Scranton, son of Timothy and Rose Marie Runco Buckley, he attended Lackawanna College where he played baseball. He was a union iron worker as well as a Scranton fire fighter commit.

Corey was a fan of Notre Dame football and loved fishing, watching movies and and spending time with friends and family. He always put others before himself. Corey\'s smile could light up a room and he had a gift for making everyone around him laugh. He was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Tyler; a sister, Brittany; his fiancée, his sweetheart and the love of his life, Amanda Connors; paternal grandmother, Nancy Buckley; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved fur baby, Nala.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clement and Rose Grace Runco, of Throop; and paternal grandfather, John P. Buckley, of Cranford, N.J.

There will be a private Mass of Christian Burial at Divine Mercy Parish at St. Joseph's Church. The Mass will be streamed at nwrfh.com for the public.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton. Please be advised that due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks are required.
