Corey T. Hilla

Corey T. Hilla of Bliss entered into rest Saturday, December 17, 2016. He was 30. Son of the Curtis L. Hilla and Juliana L. Herder Hilla, he was born on May 31, 1986 in Nashua, NH. Corey worked as a contractor for various companies throughout the years. He was a jack of all trades and always the first to lend a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Survivors include the love of his life, Lydia Marie Benkow; his father, Curtis Hilla of China Grove, NC; mother, Juliana Hilla (fiancé, Ed Anderson) of Wallkill; his children, Westin, Griffin and Quinn Wyatt; mothers of his children, Morgan McCarthy and Jean Jones; brother, Christopher Hilla (Andrea); grandmother, Margaret Herder; nieces, Natalee and Margaret; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Thomas Herder, a man that he looked up to and taught him a lot of skills in car work and construction. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A memorial service with an opportunity to share memories will be held at 6:30 p.m., following visitation.
