Corey Wade Turner

Corey Wade Turner, 46, of Metropolis, IL died Friday May 17, 2024 at 12:35 pm at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, IL. Memorial services will be held Wednesday May 29, 2024 at 7 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Wednesday after 4 pm until service time.
Corey was born on October 28, 1977 to the late Corum and Carla (Tanner) Turner of Harrisburg, IL.
He earned an Associates degree in Criminal Justice then went on to become a Sergeant at Shawnee Correctional in Vienna, IL where was employed for many years.
Corey had a passion for basketball that was displayed both on and off the court as a player and teammate at Crab Orchard, Marion and Massac County High School, and later coach at Crab Orchard grade school. Anyone who knew him understood not only his love for the game but his unwavering commitment to his family. His loved ones will remember him for his smile, calming personality and ability to make everyone around him feel comfortable.
He is survived by his son: Cordero "Cord" Turner of Metropolis, IL, daughter: Coreyah Turner of Brookport, IL; sister: Cassie Turner of Stonefort, IL and niece: Carlee Jo Bletsch of Stonefort, IL and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends
Corey was preceded in death by his parents Corum and Carla (Tanner) Turner.
The Turner family asks that all who knew him join them in celebrating the life of a man who had a warm smile and loving heart.
