Bryan Turner Obituary

Bryan Turner, age 68, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on March 1, 1958, to Ed Turner Sr. and Shirley (Barnes) Turner. He graduated from New Palestine High School in 1958. Bryan received his bachelor's degree from Ozark Christian College. He married Tina (Wilbur) on October 19, 1980, in Avon, Indiana.

Bryan Turner loved his country deeply and felt a strong calling to serve, which led him to enlist in the United States Army for three years. His heart for ministry guided much of his life, and he faithfully served as a pastor in small church ministries across Missouri, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Indiana. Bryan had a special compassion for those in need and dedicated time to several homeless outreach ministries in Indianapolis. Outside of ministry, he had a lifelong passion for wrestling. He spent many years as an active official with the Indiana High School Athletic Association and was honored with the opportunity to travel with Team Indiana to officiate matches in Australia. Bryan also shared his love of the sport as the varsity wrestling coach at Triton Central High School, where the team captured a sectional championship, and later coached at Tri-High School. Above all else, Bryan's greatest joy in life was his family, and he cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Tina Turner; children, Amber N. Turner, Amanda D. Bennett, Michael B. Turner (Carissa Ferguson); brothers, Edward (Karen) Turner Jr. and Tom (Morgan) Turner; uncle, Ray Roberts; brother-in-law, Jack Brown; grandchildren, Logan Bennett, Kloie Bennett, Taylor Turner, Aubree Turner, Teddy Turner, Kensley Crockett; beloved dog, Scooby; and several nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Turner Sr. and Shirley Turner; sister, Janice D. Brown; niece, Kailyn Turner; aunts, Linda Roberts and Patty Schooler; and uncles, Tom Barnes and Randy Barnes.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 E. McKenzie Rd. Greenfield, IN 46140.
