John R. Bryan, 67, of
Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. He was born on October 22, 1958, to Richard and Ellen Bryan of
Indianapolis, Indiana, and was the second of four children.
John was a proud graduate of New Palestine High School, where he excelled as a gifted baseball player. Drawn to building and craftsmanship from a young age, he worked for many years in the custom home building industry. A lifelong carpenter with a passion for woodworking, John approached every project with precision, creativity, and care. The homes he helped build-and the many handcrafted pieces he created for family and friends-stand as lasting reflections of his skill and dedication.
A man of great faith, John was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Fatima Council. His commitment to service, fellowship, and living out his faith was evident in the way he treated others and supported his community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathy; daughters Elizabeth Bryan and Ashley Bryan; his cherished grandchildren, Grayson Dersch and Addison Dersch; and his beloved grand-dog, Finn. John also leaves behind his siblings, Katherine (Joseph) Gary, Michael Bryan, and Timothy Bryan, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him for his warmth, humor, and steadfast loyalty.
John's life was guided by kindness, integrity, and a deep devotion to his family. He carried a quiet strength and a generous spirit, always willing to lend his skills or a listening ear. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the craftsmanship he leaves behind.
