Corey Matthew Whitt

Corey Matthew Whitt, age 33, of Davison, MI, passed away on December 12, 2024, in Grand Blanc, MI of a tragic aortic dissection. Corey was born in Flint, MI to Denise Mae Whitt and Matthew Thomas Whitt on September 14, 1991. He attended Linden High School and later earned his GED to be able to work and support his family after the birth of his first child in 2009. He went on to earn his certificate in mechanics, and eventually worked as a laborer in concrete for quite a few years during which his second child was born in 2016. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and swimming before he was deemed disabled by his doctor. He was the most outgoing, outspoken, loyal, compassionate person. He loved spending time with his family, especially his kids, and nephew and niece. He was always that person willing to drop everything to help out a friend, a neighbor, or even a stranger in need. Corey is survived by his son, Brayden Matthew Shanks-Whitt, daughter Kenzingtyn Marie Whitt, sister Rachel (Kody) Freeman, mother, Denise Whitt, nephew, Ethan Freeman, niece, Aubree Freeman, grandmother Rachel Patterson; as well as, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Matthew Whitt, and grandfather Cecil Patterson. His memory will live on with his mother, sister, and children in his family.
