Corey Wilson Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Owen Funeral Home - Dixie Highway on Mar. 6, 2026.
With heavy hearts, but also with deep gratitude, we remember Corey Taylor Wilson Jr. who lived only sixteen years, yet filled those years with a presence so big that it will echo in our lives forever.
Some people spend a lifetime trying to figure out who they are. But he lived unapologetically as himself. At just sixteen years old, he carried a spirit that was bold, vibrant, and impossible to ignore. When he walked into a room, you felt it. His charisma was natural. His smile could shift the entire atmosphere. And his humor, he had a way of making people laugh when they needed it the most.
But beyond the laughter and the personality everyone loved, what truly defined him was his heart.
He was loyal-deeply loyal-to the people he loved. If you were in his circle, you knew it. He showed up. He stood beside you. And he protected the people who mattered to him with a love that was fierce and genuine.
At home, he had a role that was uniquely his. As the youngest boy, he looked up to his older brother. Like so many younger brothers do, he admired him, watched him closely, and carried that quiet pride of wanting to follow in his footsteps. Their bond was something special-built on brotherhood, shared moments, and the unspoken understanding that only brothers have.
But he wasn't just a younger brother. He was also a big protector in his own way-to his baby sister. Even at sixteen, you could see that nurturing side of him. The way he cared for her, the way he looked at her with love-it showed the kind of man he was becoming. He had a natural instinct to protect, to guide, and to love deeply.
He also shared a meaningful bond with his stepfather. Some of the moments they shared were simple, but they were meaningful-spending time playing video games together, watching TV, and just enjoying each other's company. In those everyday moments, something deeper was happening. His stepfather helped show him what it means to grow into a man-through guidance, presence, and example. That relationship helped shape him, and it was clear that he valued that time and connection.
And then there was his relationship with his mother-something truly beautiful to witness. The bond between them was full of love, connection, and understanding. She wasn't just his mom; she was someone he cherished. You could see how much he loved her in the little things-the conversations, the laughter, and the way he simply wanted to make her proud.
In many ways, that's who he was at his core: someone who wanted to bring joy to others. Whether it was cracking a joke, teasing someone just enough to make them smile, or finding that perfect moment to lighten the mood, he had a gift. He knew that laughter connects people. And he used that gift often.
Sixteen years feels painfully short. There are so many moments we wish we could still have, so many memories we thought we would still make. But what we must hold onto today is this truth: the impact of a life is not measured by its length, but by the love it leaves behind.
And he left behind a lot of love.
He left it in the memories of laughter.
In the loyalty he showed his friends.
In the pride he had for his brother.
In the tenderness he showed his sister.
In the guidance he received and shared with his stepfather.
And in the unbreakable bond he shared with his mother.
His story doesn't end here. Every time we laugh at a memory of him… every time we show loyalty to someone we love… every time we protect and care for our family the way he did… a piece of his spirit continues to live on through us.
So today we grieve. That is natural. That is human. But we also celebrate a young man who lived authentically, loved fiercely, and brought joy everywhere he went.
Sixteen years with him was a gift. And though we wish we had more time, we will forever carry the light he brought into our lives.
Rest easy, young king.
You were loved deeply.
You will be missed endlessly.
And you will never be forgotten.
Forever 16 Forever in our hearts!
