WOLCOTT – Corinne D. Townsend, 95, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at her home in Wolcott, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Frederick Townsend Jr.
Mrs. Townsend was born in Waterbury, CT., daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Garthwait) Enhorning. She was owner of and instructor at the Wolcott Dance Academy for nearly 50 years. She was a founding member, and on the board of directors, of The Wolcott Chamber of Commerce. She also taught ballroom dance classes at Chase Country Club and was director of Miss Wolcott Pageant for many years. She volunteered for numerous organizations and was named Wolcott Business Person of the Year.
Anyone that knew Corinne will remember her grace, style, and elegance. She had an impact on so many lives throughout her life, and loved her family unconditionally, always putting them first. Her generosity will never be forgotten. She enjoyed the theater, traveling, shopping, decorating, and entertaining family dinners
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Townsend is survived by daughter, Linda Eustace, and her husband, Daniel; her granddaughter, Nicole Daddona, and her husband, Thomas; her grandson, Eric Zimyeski, and his wife, Melanie; and her brother, Ernest Enhorning, and his wife, Holly. She will also be missed by her five great-grandsons. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Townsend was predeceased by her first husband, of 23 years, Lawrence Pierpoint Jr.; her son, David Pierpoint; and her brother, George Enhorning.
The family would like to thank the wonderful hospice care provided by VITAS and a special thank you to all of her nurses, and her aide, Michelle.
Arrangements: – Funeral services for Mrs. Townsend are private and will be held at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours and The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury is assisting with arrangements.
