Corlyis Jean Lenning

Corlyis Jean Lenning passed away on March 17, 2026 in Brookings, SD. Private family graveside service will be held. Condolences can be sent to the family through Rude's Funeral Home.

Corlyis was born on February 28th, 1937 in Estelline, SD, the daughter of Odes Nelvin and Lucille Josephine (Fasbender) Langland. Corlyis was surrounded by her loving family when God called her to her heavenly home to meet her Lord and Savior and be reunited with the love of her life, Clifford R. Lenning on March 17th, 2026.

Corlyis was raised in the Catholic faith, and confirmed at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Estelline, SD. She was raised on the family farm and received her education through the Estelline School District. She was united in marriage to Clifford on October 1st, 1955; to this union was born four children. In addition to being a homemaker, she spent 25 years as housekeeping supervisor at the Brookview Manor.

She enjoyed spending her time cooking, baking, working on embroidery projects, and coloring pictures to mail to family and friends. Most importantly, she was a caretaker providing love, comfort, and support to her family, friends, or any person in need of a kind, encouraging, word or a hand to hold.

Corlyis is survived by her children; Connie (Randy) Nielsen, Cathryn (Loyd) Myers, Colleen (Steve) Weber, and Craig (Carol) Lenning; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Harriet and Loretta; one brother, Richard (Gloria); two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Marlys; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one great-grandchild, her parents, and one sister, Faye.
