In loving memory of Cornelis Dirk Vanderbent, 72, who passed away on January 20th, 2024.
Cornelis, fondly known as Casey, was born to Joesph and Elizabeth Vanderbent in Orangeville, Ontario on July 27th, 1951.
His life was a symphony of laughter, love, and memorable sayings that touched the hearts of friends and family. A hard working man with a passion for Blue Jays baseball, fishing, and the company of his many dogs he trained throughout the years. He still always found joy in the simple pleasures - his morning coffee, a good BBQ steak, cherry pie, and double zoute licorice.
Casey had a vibrant spirit, much like the melodies of his favorite music. Remembered by his children who can still hear dads singing and guitar playing throughout their childhood. His character was a beacon of humor and zest, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew him!
As a family man, Casey celebrated the births of his children and grandchildren, nurturing a legacy of love and resilience. Casey is survived by his partner Verna Wall who he met in the fall of 2014. His four children; Kelly, Teresa, Travis, and Rebecca. His grandchildren; Micayla, Ryan, Charlotte, and Seth. He is also survived by his brother Dirk and his wife Sue.
May the laughter he shared and the wisdom he imparted be a timeless guide for all who were touched by his presence.
As his parting words to us all today would be, "Don't do anything I wouldn't do,"
Rest in peace, pops.
Memorial donations can be made to your local animal shelter or dog rescue in Casey's name.
