Cornelius W. Carter, also know as "Spot", son of Franklyn and Mary Carter was born on April 16, 1935 in Caroline County, Virginia. On September 17th 2015, he departed quietly at his daughters residence in Mount Pocono, Pa. Cornelius graduated from Union High School in Bowling Green, Va, in 1953. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army on August 17th, 1954. He proudly served our country for more than eight years. Cornelius also attended Brooklyn Technical School and Apex Technical School to achieve his Certificates in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology. He worked ten years as a U.S. Postal worker, and worked as a MTA Bus Operator, where he retired, after twenty five years of service. Cornelius was united in holy matrimony to the late Marion O. Carter on October 6th, 1970, in Brooklyn, NY. To this Union he raised six children. Cornelius was a loving husband, father and friend. He loved fishing, taking pictures, construction, driving, yard work and walking. He thought highly on education, and had a great sense of humor. Cornelius is survived by his children: Anthony Carter and his wife Kwi-Sun of Fort Worth Tx, Theresa Vargas and her husband Rosendo Vargas of Mt Pocono Pa, Peggy Carter of Bowling Green Va, Wendy Miers and her husband Shannon Miers of California, and Veronica Buie of Bowling Green Va, nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Franklin Carter of Hempstead, NY, and David Carter of Milford Va, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
