Cornelius J. Van Galen, Jr. February 24, 1955 - March 3, 2026

Cornelius (Neil), 71, of North Wales, PA passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2026.

He was the loving husband for nearly 40 years of Marianna Braccio, and the most excellent and devoted father to Cornelius (Mouy, nee Kong) and Joseph (Ruth, nee Coval). Neil was also Pop to his beloved granddaughter Violet Cornelia.

Preceded in death by his parents Cornelius J. Sr and Dora Van Galen, his in-laws, Joseph and Angela Braccio, and his sister, Donna Van Galen. Neil was born February 24, 1955 in Philadelphia. Neil was an avid reader, loved cars, especially his '67 Mustang, and was a master of obscure facts. While attending college and law school Neil worked with his father at the Budd Company in Hunting Park.

As a lawyer, Neil practiced law in Philadelphia and surrounding counties for well over 45 years. He was well regarded by clients, fellow attorneys, business partners.

Neil was a devoted, selfless, and involved husband and father, always doing his very best to make his family's life a remembered and cherished experience. He guided his sons through their educations, always listening and giving thoughtful counsel. He relished in their many achievements.

He was a loyal and trusting friend and loved "lunching with the guys".

He persisted through a long battle with cancer and in the course of treatment enjoyed retirement and travel with Marianna, especially in southern Maine.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:15AM at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Funeral Homes and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. A visitation will be held from 10:30AM-11:15AM. Interment will be Private.
