Cory Allen George, age 27, died unexpectedly, Thursday, February 29, 2024, in his Sherrodsville residence.

Born in Union Hospital at Dover on September 17, 1996, Cory is the son of Jim (Holly) George of Sherrodsville and Janie Hambleton Wagner of Midvale.

Cory was a 2015 graduate of Woodmont High School in South Carolina and shortly before his 19th birthday moved back to Ohio. He began working for the Winesburg plant of Robin Industries as a Press Operator for Rubber Injection Molding Machines and has maintained that job since his return.

Cory was a quiet individual who enjoyed a simple life. He loved spending time with his family, taking fishing trips, listening to music of all types, working on old cars with his grandpa, and watching various television series. He loved the TV show, Friends, the most and had many decorations and references to the show throughout his home.

In addition to his parents, Cory is survived by his siblings, Madison (Robert Dennis) Wagner of New Philadelphia, Hayley (John) Middleton of South Carolina, Caitlyn (Zach) Wallick of New Philadelphia, Kayla Conner of Coshocton, Cody Conner of Malvern, Jennifer Sizemore of Mineral City, and Brandon Sizemore of New Philadelphia.

Completing the family are his grandparents, Kay Hambleton, Jane Shonk, and John and Nancy George.

Cory was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bruce Hambleton and his great-grandparents, Cecil and Louise George.

The family will greet guests on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Pastor Brian Flood will lead a service celebrating Cory’s life beginning at 7:00 PM.
