Cory Gene Jones

Cory Gene Jones, age 39, entered eternal rest on May 2, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida. Born on November 6, 1985, in Dallas, Texas, Cory was a radiant soul whose presence left a lasting imprint on everyone he met.
To know Cory was to love him. He had a heart bigger than Texas and a spirit that was impossible to contain. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back and still try to give you more. A free spirit, a gentle heart, and a true people-person, Cory never met a stranger. His laughter filled rooms, his stories sparked smiles, and his energy could lift even the heaviest hearts. It was hard to be sad around him, even when life was hard.
Cory lived his life fully and unapologetically. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping, where he felt most at peace. He loved hockey, video games, and basketball. When music played, he danced, never afraid to be exactly who he was. He carried both joy and pain, and yet he still managed to shine, always looking for the good and trying to help others find it too. Even in his struggles, Cory's kindness and light never wavered.
He was a loving father, a devoted son, a loyal brother, and a faithful friend. But more than anything, Cory was real. He was raw, imperfect, and full of heart, and that's exactly what made him unforgettable.
Cory is survived by his beloved son, Casey G. Jones; his mother, Lesa McMillan; his father, John McMillan; He is also survived by his brothers, Jeremy Jones and Roy Olivares; his nieces, Reyana and Aleena Olivares; lots of aunts and uncles who love him; many cousins, including Alyssa Grubbs, Cynthia, and Mario Martinez Jr. Juston and Jason Grubbs, Michael, Brian, Sarah Linthicum, and his biological father, Norvell "Butch" Jones, and wife Brenda Jones.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his grandparents, Leroy and Betty Cramer, and Norvell L. Jones Sr. and Lodine Jones, who preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17th, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The viewing will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with the service beginning at 4:00 PM.
Cory's absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. We will carry his laughter, his spirit, and his love with us always.
In lieu of cut flowers, the family requests that potted plants be sent.
