Cory Russell Sheehan

Cory R. Sheehan, age 35, of North East, PA, left this earth on Sunday, August 13, 2023

He was born September 18, 1987 to Tina M. Tackett and the late Russell "Heavy" Sheehan.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Cindy McDonald, his paternal grandparents, Edward and Ann Sheehan, and his uncle, Dave Tackett, Sr.

Cory will always be remembered for his fun, loving personality. He always had a funny sarcastic comeback for anything someone said to him. He was kind, loving, and compassionate. His older brother said it best with the following words – "As I stood by you earlier for what would be the last time I would see you on this earth, I looked down and saw your tattoo. It really hit me because I think you believed it was you against the world, but it didn't have to be. I wish you could have seen your true worth and what you had to offer life. I wish we could have grown old as brothers and did things brothers do. I've learned a lot about you the past few days that I did not know. As mad as I would get at you, my heart still hurts for you. I'm sorry you had to battle demons for the better part of your life. You are a great person who had a ton to offer. You are a great father who genuinely cared for and loved his kids. You were the life of the party and would do anything for anyone. I hope you're at peace now, and I'm glad you don't have to fight anymore. You're still my brother and I love you."

He leaves behind two sons, Kaden Sheehan and Hayes Sheehan. They were his pride and joy. He loved them with everything he had, and a bonus son, Bryce Smith. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Bob Perry (Jackie), Jordan Sheehan (Leann), and his sister, Sarah Ann Sheehan, all of North East; 6 nephews, Tyler, Camden, Emmit, Tayte, Cayde, and Jaxson, all of North East; his uncle, Steve Tackett; his aunts, Regina Wheeler (Keith), Betty Perez (Jose), Annie McDonald, Billie Pruitt (Toby), and Patty Tackett; his godfather, Gary Lillis (Jeanne); several cousins, and his cherished soulmate, Ann Moyak.

Cory was employed with Verizon Wireless, where he led the sales team every month. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, and he enjoyed golfing and college basketball.

There will be a Celebration of Cory's Life on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Freeport Beach in North East from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. There will be a short service and light snacks and beverages provided. Seating is limited, so bring your own lawn chairs.

It is our family's wishes that no alcohol be brought, and if you can't come sober, please don't attend. Also, if you ever used with, or aided Cory in his addiction, please don't come. Get yourself into treatment.

I just recently spoke to Maria Miller, and Taylor's story is very similar to Cory's. Her niece is a longtime friend of Kaden's, so this was my first thought for donations. Please donate if you can.
