Cosimo Gerardi Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Homes Inc. on Nov. 3, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our father, Cosimo Gerardi, who entered into the presence of his Savior on November 1, 2025, at the age of 88.
"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints." – Psalm 116:15
With joy and faith in his heart, he embraced God's precious gift of eternal salvation, placing his full and unwavering trust in the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, in His death, burial, and resurrection - the finished work that Jesus accomplished on the Cross. Our Dad's peace, hope, and salvation were never in his own efforts, nor in any church traditions or works, but rested fully in the boundless grace and mercy of God. What a comfort and joy it was for him to know that his life and eternity were held securely in Jesus' hands. (That's Amazing Grace).
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast." – Ephesians 2:8–9
The Lord Jesus gave him strength, comfort, and peace, even in his final days, and he often spoke with joy about 'going home' to be with his Savior, fully confident in the promises of Scripture:"
"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." – 2 Corinthians 5:8
Today, we rejoice in the knowledge that our dad is free from pain and resting in the eternal peace of his Redeemer. His journey of faith was unwavering, steadfast, and full of grace.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." – 2 Timothy 4:7
Our Dad's life stood as a living example of faith, perseverance, and love, strengthened through every challenge by his unwavering trust in Jesus.
Today is the day of salvation - do not put it off, for tomorrow is not promised! Jesus Christ, through His death, burial, and resurrection, accomplished the finished work on the Cross, securing eternal life for all who place their trust in Him. Salvation is not earned by any works of our own or by any church traditions; it comes by faith alone in Christ alone. As the Scripture declares, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." – Acts 16:31
Cosimo is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Maria Gerardi, and his children Ignazio Gerardi, Grace Maccioli and her husband Domenic Maccioli (Nicky Boy), Frankie Gerardi, and Marisa Gerardi. He was a proud grandfather to Ariana, Matthew, and DJ, who brought him joy.
He is also survived by his brothers Giuseppe and Frank Gerardi, and predeceased by Nino Gerardi, Maria Giacalone, Vincenzo Gerardi, and Rosa Leone. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
