Ruth worked for Trustco Bank in Schenectady for many years. In 1948 she joined the Galway United Methodist Church where she served as an officer, choir member and organized many fundraisers for the church. She was a charter member of the Galway Lioness, a member of the Galway Women's Club and an officer and member of the Galway Senior Citizens. She also served on the Saratoga County Aging Advisory Council. Ruth enjoyed knitting and traveling with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Ruth Millington, her husband Arthur Gerardi and her sister Shirley Cornell. Ruth is survived by her daughter Sharyn Kalinkewicz (Gary), Goddaughter Pam Neahr (Dave), and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, November 12 from 4pm to 6pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Funeral services will be held 10am Thursday, November 13 at the Galway United Methodist Church, 2056 East Street, Galway. Burial will follow in the Galway Village Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Ruth may be made to the Galway United Methodist Church, PO Box 303, Galway, NY 12074 or Galway Emergency Medical Services, 2175 Galway Road, Galway, NY 12074.

She was a real icon. Always a smile and a hello. I remember when I voted She would be sitting in her chair. If she was taking care of my district she would have the book opened to my name before I get to the table. My condolences to her family and prayers
