Cossmoe Hurd Obituary

Cossmoe Kareem Hurd, 41, was born on October 29, 1983, in Tulia, Texas, to Mary Frances Hurd and Paul Dean Hurd. He passed away on June 19, 2025, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and compassion.
Cossmoe was preceded in death by his father, Paul Dean Hurd, and his mother, Mary Frances Hurd. He is survived by his three sisters: Taneka Ingram of Hermiston, Oregon; Paula (Deana) Dowell of Clovis, New Mexico; and Samitra Hurd of Tucumcari, New Mexico, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
A man of faith, Cossmoe dedicated his life to Christ at First Assembly of God under the leadership of Pastor Brian Hurst. He remained an occasional member of the church for several years, finding strength and peace in his spiritual community.
Cossmoe graduated from Tucumcari High School, where he was a proud member of the Tucumcari Rattlers football team. It was during these years that he also discovered his love for music, particularly rap, and began exploring his creative talents that would stay with him throughout his life.
Cossmoe had a wide range of interests, from drawing and listening to music of all kinds to enjoying the simple pleasures of nature and playing cards. He loved helping others and always found time to lend a hand to those in need. A beloved fixture in his family, Cossmoe spent much of his time at his Aunt Ann's house, a place where he felt at home.
With a heart of gold and a smile that could light up any room, Cossmoe brought joy to everyone he encountered. His larger-than-life personality meant that there was never a dull moment in his presence. Those who knew him will remember his generosity, sense of humor, and the way he made others feel seen and valued.
Cossmoe will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His spirit and memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
Viewing will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 1 - 2pm at First Assembly of God Church, 524 S. Monroe Tucumcari, NM 88401, followed by the Funeral Service at 2pm.
