Coursey Johnson, age 85, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2025.

Born March 26, 1940 in Metter, Georgia, Coursey was the beloved son of the late Joe and Annie May Johnson. He attended Byrd Junior High School and went on to dedicate more than 30 year of his life as a skilled laborer for the railroad and as a professional truck driver. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic, reliability and dedication.

A man of deep faith, Coursey was a devoted member of the Golden Heights Church of Christ in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His unwavering belief in God guided his life and inspired those around him.

Coursey is survived by his loving siblings; one brother, Johnny Johnson of Montgomery, Alabama; two sisters, Betty Jean Johnson and Lora Lee Lanier both of Metter, Georgia. He also leaves behind a host of cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and friend who adored him.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ben Parrish; five sisters, Helen Johnson, Sugar Pryor, Ruby Wright, Josephine Lanier and Bernice Holiday.

His kindness, strength, humility and steadfast love for his family will never be forgotten. Coursey's life was testament of grace, perseverance and quiet strength. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
