In Loving Memory of Connie Sue Johnson January 27, 1969 – August 21, 2025

Connie Sue Johnson, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, entered into eternal rest on August 21, 2025, at the age of 56. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, humility, and unwavering faith.

Born on January 27, 1969, in Grassy, Missouri, Connie was the cherished daughter of Bobby and Edna Robbins. From her earliest days, she carried a gentle spirit and a heart for helping others. Her life was a reflection of Christ's love-quiet, steady, and full of grace.

Connie worked diligently as a secretary and house cleaner, roles that showcased her reliability, attention to detail, and deep care for others. She approached every task with pride and integrity, never seeking recognition, but always giving her best. Her work was more than a job-it was an extension of her generous spirit and her desire to make life better for those around her.

Her greatest joy was her family. Connie was a devoted wife to her husband, Fred Johnson, and a loving mother to her children, LaShaun Johnson and Houston Johnson. She was also a proud and adoring grandmother to Jaelyn Johnson, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Connie treasured every second with Jaelyn and poured her love into their bond.

Connie and Fred shared a love story rooted in basketball and faith. They met at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where their mutual love of the game sparked a connection that grew into a lifelong partnership. For 32 beautiful years, they built a life filled with laughter, devotion, and shared purpose. Connie continued to enjoy basketball throughout her life, especially cheering on the Missouri State University Bears, where she found joy in the energy of the game and the memories it brought.

Connie and Fred were proud members of North Point Church in Springfield, Missouri, where they found community, strength, and spiritual growth. Connie loved serving at church-whether it was lending a helping hand, welcoming others, or simply being present in worship. She found deep peace and comfort in hearing the Word of God and cherished the moments spent immersed in gospel music. The melodies and messages of those songs lifted her spirit and reminded her of God's promises. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she lived it with quiet devotion and joyful service.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Johnson; her children, LaShaun (Alisha Byers) Johnson and Houston (Cami) Johnson; her granddaughter, Jaelyn Johnson; her father, Bobby Robbins; her brother, Tommy (Cindy) Robbins; and a loving extended family. Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Robbins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in Wellsville, Missouri, at 3:30 PM. The dedicated pallbearers will be: Terrell Carter, Mark Garrett, Stan Kurtz, Stan Long, Dale Lamberth, and Al Blaue.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly invites you to send potted plants or contribute to the MSU Bear Fund, which supports Missouri State University's student athletes. Potted plants offer a lasting symbol of life and remembrance, continuing to grow for years as a living tribute. Donations to the Bear Fund may be made online through the Missouri State Foundation's Bear Fund website. For those attending in person, cash donations will be gratefully accepted at the funeral home. A designated basket will be placed near the sign-in booklet for your convenience.

Connie's life was a beautiful reflection of God's love. She gave generously, loved deeply, and served faithfully. Though she is no longer with us, her light continues to shine in the lives she touched and the hearts she inspired.

"I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord." - Psalm 118:17
