Courtney Ann Rapp, age 45, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 3, 1980, to Robert and Linda (O'Bryan) Rapp, Courtney brought light, laughter, and boundless compassion into the world from the moment she arrived. She grew up rooted in strong values, community, and faith, and she lived each day as a reflection of those gifts. Courtneys childhood was filled with joyful activity and heartfelt purpose. She was actively involved in 4-H, Junior Fair Board, Girl Scouts, and taught Sunday school at Danville Church of Christ. These early experiences helped shape her deep commitment to service, education, and helping othersa calling she fulfilled throughout her life. A proud 1998 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Courtney continued her education with determination and grace, earning an associate's degree from Southern State Community College, a bachelor's degree from Wilmington College, and a master's degree from Wright State University. Her love of learning blossomed into a passion for teaching, and she spent 11 meaningful years as a teacher at Miami Trace, where she not only educated young minds but touched countless lives with her warmth and empathy. She also served as a counselor for the "Reach For Tomorrow" program, continuing her dedication to helping others find hope and direction. Courtneys faith remained a cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of the Danville Church of Christ, she lived out her beliefs through kindness, generosity, and a quiet strength that inspired those around her. She was also a proud and active member of the White Oak Valley Grange and Farmers Union, where she shared a cherished bond with her grandparents, Bill and Pat OBryan. To know Courtney was to be loved by her. She carried a gentle spirit, a sharp mind, and a heart that always had room for others. Whether she was guiding students, volunteering in her community, or spending time with her family, Courtney gave her all with sincerity and love. She will be greatly missed. Courtney is survived by her mother, Linda Rapp; brother, Cory (Kim) Rapp; nephews, Logan Rapp and Corbin Rapp; niece, Madison Rapp; aunts, Louise Woolums and Barbara Lawson; uncles, Tod Rapp and Charles Rapp; special friends, Kristy Rudy and Laura Brooker.
