It is with profound sadness that the family of Coy Craig, age 64, of Datil, New Mexico, announce his passing. Coy, born February 16, 1960, in Ruidoso, New Mexico, passed away peacefully after fighting a long, hard, fight to stay with the family he so deeply loved, on July 22, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his adoring family.
Coy is preceded in passing by his mother, Ruby Craig; sister, Shiela Johnson; and his grandson, Bryden Bruton.
He is survived by the love of his life, and wife of 25 years, Cindi Craig; sons, Dustin (Shirleen) Coslin, and Dylan Coslin; daughters, Kayla (Brett) Bruton, Gracie (Austin) Craig, and Brooke Craig; grandchildren, Nathan, Kali, Logan, Brady, Baylor, Quinn, Quaid, Haisleigh, Kylie Rae, Alizea, Jase, and Baby Coslin; father, Doyle Craig; sisters, Melinda Russell, and Sherry Perez; brother, Mark Craig; many nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and community members who will remember him fondly.
Coy was the epitome of what everyone believed a husband, father, and friend to be. He put his family first and it was without question that he was the one they'd call when the need arose. He never met a stranger and would quite literally give you the shirt off his back. He was a natural on a horse, a talented and successful hunter, and made working a blade look easy!
He enjoyed lion hunting, team roping, and working cattle. He passed his passions, work ethic, love, respect, and knowledge of animals onto his children and grandchildren.
Coy was Cindy's soulmate, his children's John Wayne, and the absolute best Poppy his grandchildren could have ever been lucky enough to have. He will be truly missed by all of those whose lives he touched. We sure hope that heaven has pockets, because where else would he keep his Copenhagen?
A celebration of life for Coy will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the Datil Cowboy Church. A potluck lunch will follow. Coy will then be placed to rest immediately following the potluck.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Coslin, Dylan Coslin, Nathan Bruton, Logan Bruton, Brett Bruton, Austin McCormick, Louis Sanders, and Ronnie Dennison.
Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, where an online guest register is available at www.noblin.com

I met Coy through his wife Cindi who is my UPS driver. He was grading the roads in my community and he did some road work for me. My condolences to the family and a huge hug to Cindi.
