Mr. Coy Webb O'Shields

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr Coy Webb O'Shields, Sr., age 90 of Maysville, Georgia who entered rest Saturday, January 17, 2026. Mr. O'Shields was born in Whitmire, South Carolina, a son of the late Clarence Eugene O'Shields and the late Rosa Miller O'Shields. Mr. O'Shields retired from the U.S. Army after serving twenty-three years which included service in Korea and Vietnam and also was a member of the Free Masons for sixty five years. In addition to his parents, Mr. O'Shields is preceded by his wife, Barbara Jean McLendon O'Shields, two sons, Coy Webb O'Shields, Jr. and Robert Mitchell O'Shields. Brother, Johnny O'Shields, sister, Grace Louise Hanley and a grandson, Shaun Jeffrey Whitehead.

Survivors include a son, James O'Shields (Mary) of Ohio, daughter, Rebecca Lynn Whitehead of South Carolina. Five grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 22, 2026 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Center Grove Baptist Cemetery with Masonic Rites and full Military Honors by the U.S. Army. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Evans Funeral Home.
