Mr. Craig Anthony Chambers, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 3, 2024. He was born in Yadkin County on March 4, 1968 to Lewis Anthony Speaks and Alice Chambers. Craig attended New Horizons Adult Day Program for many years and absolutely loved it there. He enjoyed doing puzzles, eating, books, and gospel music. Craig just loved everyone he came in contact with. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the special privilege to know him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Mary Avon Redmond, and Reuben and May Speaks; and uncles, Richard Chambers, Bruce Michael Redmond, Dennis Redmond, Raunchy Redmond, Gary Speaks, Stanley Speaks, and Larry Speaks. He is survived by aunts, Regina Williams, Diedra Redmond, Mary Revels, and Beverly Posey; uncles Michael Speaks and Dennis Speaks; cousins, Traci Conner, Michelle Hayden, Rakem Chambers, Patrick Williams, Santana “Jasmine” Williams, Ebony Williams, Malik Dunlap, Ezra Whit, Tammy Carr, and Jimmy Revels; and special friends, Maria Soots, Becky Lowery, Scarlet Dinkins, Charlene Wyatt, Angela Bond, Midori Smitherman, and Autumn Lowery.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Jimmy Lancaster and Rev. Robin Speaks officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery in Harmony, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center for the excellent care given to Craig during his many stays there, and to New Horizons Adult Day Services for the loving and compassionate care shown to Craig over the years.
