Craig Aron Demarest, 53, of Stuyvesant, NY, passed away on August 16th, 2023, in Claverack, NY.
Craig is survived by his mother, Sandra, his brothers, Jack and Jason, sister, Jackie, and daughter, Erica, followed by an extended family. He is predeceased by his father, John Demarest.
Craig attended Ichabod Crane and Hudson High School, graduating from the former in 1988. Hudson Valley Community College afforded him an opportunity to study Construction Engineering. Working many different jobs over the years, he shared that he felt most complete and satisfied when helping others in their struggles. It would be remiss to not mention his quirky sense of humor and love of sports, as he had an uncanny ability to remember statistics from the dynasties of the Boston Celtics era and did so with great enthusiasm. Craig had a big heart which was broken during his youth and never healed. He was many things in life, from an all-star athlete to a billiards shark, and a great friend to many. He is survived by a sphere of true love, hope and faith that can never be shaken. His mother, Sandra Marie, was and will always be his greatest champion. With the deepest of love, we loved our brother completely, without ever having a complete understanding of the pain he felt. During these trials and tribulations, we ask you to pray for the broken hearted. If you wish to make contributions or donations on his behalf, please consider your local boys and girls club, or outreach organizations with the objective of helping individuals find their way back to home plate. Services will be announced in the future. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie.
