Craig Heller age 79 of Hendersonville died Sunday November 30 following a brief illness. He was born March 14, 1946, in Stroudsburg, PA. After graduating from Maryville College in Maryville, TN, he was drafted into the Air Force and served four years at MacDill Airforce Base in Tampa Florida. Once his service was complete, Craig went to work for Sears Roebuck. He stayed in retail his entire career holding various positions from store management to corporate buying.
Craig loved to read and was rarely seen without a book or magazine close by. His other passions were his family, golf, the New York Yankees and Tennessee Vols. He also loved to travel, especially to Coastal Maine where watching lobster boats by a lighthouse with a lobster roll was his idea of the perfect day.
He is survived by his wife Ann E. McAvoy Heller, daughter Holly Hale (Larry Hale), granddaughters Lauren Hale Norman (Holston Norman) and Emily Hale Tusing (Jake Tusing), great-grandchildren Ryder Norman and Ellerbe Norman, and nieces Katherine McAvoy, Rebecca McAvoy and Elizabeth McAvoy.
