Craig Martin Moorhead

Craig Martin Moorhead, age 77, of Oakland Township, Michigan, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025. Craig was born on February 26, 1948 in Birmingham, Michigan to Donald and Delores Moorhead. He attended Seaholm High School and obtained his education degree at Adrian College and a masters degree at Central Michigan University. Craig spent over 35 years in the steel industry, starting in sales and rising to Vice President of Sales, where his strong work ethic and commitment earned the respect of everyone who worked with. Craig was married to his beloved wife Sueann (Gardner) Moorhead for 47 years. Together they raised two children, Kimberly and Craig II.
Craig was a man defined by his deep love for family and friends, unwavering loyalty, and a generous spirit that put others first. For 44 consecutive years, he only missed two University of Michigan home football games-rain or shine, win or lose!! His legendary tailgates were as anticipated as the games themselves. He found joy in bringing people together, whether at a tailgate or around a dinner table. His happy place was New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where he cherished time with his family under the sun. Craig spent many years coaching his son Craig's baseball team and could always be seen in the stands at Kim's swim meets. Nothing brought him more pride than watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He had a great love for desserts, a true Cookie Monster, and would enjoy a sweet treat to end his day. His presence lit up every room, and his legacy of kindness, loyalty, and fun lives on in all who knew and loved him.
Craig is survived by his wife Sueann Moorhead; daughter Kimberly Eichenberg (Tim); son Craig Moorhead II (Lauren); sister Christine Towner (Dave), sister Pamela Taylor (Steve), and brother Rand Moorhead; grandchildren Charles, Mason, Hunter, Camden, Sophia; brother in law Ray Gardner and his sister-in-law Joan Gardner.
Craig was preceded in death by his father Donald Moorhead and mother Delores Moorhead; his father in law Edsel Gardner and mother-in-law Marian Gardner.
A memorial visitation for Craig will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Modetz Funeral Home- Silverbell Chapel,100 East Silverbell Rd, Orion, MI 48360, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
