Craig Randolph Wagner passed away on March 11, 2025, in Fresno, California. Born on November 3, 1958, in Lindsay, California, Craig lived a life dedicated to his family, his profession, and his community.
Craig pursued higher education at Porterville College before completing his training in civil engineering at California State University, Fresno. Over the past 40 years, he built a distinguished career as a civil engineer, working in both the public and private sectors. Beyond his technical expertise, Craig found great fulfillment in mentoring young engineers, guiding them as they navigated their careers.
A devoted husband and father, Craig is survived by his wife, Jane Jackson Wagner; his six sons: Robert Wayne Wagner and his significant other Jerica Marshall, Nathaniel Bryce Wagner and his wife Gina Gavrilis Wagner, Thatcher Christian Wagner and his wife An Cao, Jackson Cole Wagner and his wife Alyssa Wagner, Griffith Liam Wagner, and Langdon Asher Wagner as well as his cherished grandchildren Atlas Wayne Wagner and Siena Grace Wagner. He also leaves behind his mother, Regina Wagner; his sister, Lyn McDaniels; sisters-in-law Jamie Coudright, Jenny Hazelwood, Barbara Morgan, Mary Harner Jackson, JJ MacGregor, Janice Brannen, and Mary Padula Jackson; brothers-in-law Darren McDaniels, Roy Coudright, Gene Hazelwood, Dennis Morgan, Jonathan Jackson, and John MacGregor; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Lee Wagner; father-in-law Robert Carson Jackson; mother-in-law, Helen Louise Jackson; and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Jerome Jackson.
Craig took immense pride in being a father to six sons. Whenever he met someone new, he would proudly announce, "I have six sons," then proceed to enthusiastically share stories about the Wagner boys-a testament to the deep love he had for his family. Nothing was beneath Craig in his pursuit of supporting his sons' interests. He could be found coaching soccer teams; managing fireworks booths; driving to Berkeley, Irvine or Moraga during peak holiday traffic to bring a son home from college; or preparing and serving up food for Fresno State rugby team socials.
Beyond work and family life, Craig was an active presence at Bullard TALENT School, where Jane worked. Whether barbecuing for the Harvest of TALENT event; flipping pancakes for breakfasts; building sets for the middle school musical productions, or making wig stands for the costume shop, Craig was always eager to lend a hand. His generosity of spirit made him a beloved figure within the school community.
Craig's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched-his family, colleagues, young engineers he mentored, and friends who knew him well. His memory will continue to bring comfort to those who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org), American Heart Association (heart.org), American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org), or Bullard TALENT School (4950 N. Harrison, Fresno, CA 93704).

Dear Jane and your family. I am saddened by your loss. I´ll never forget my years at Turner with you and many others. I visited you in the Hospital after your SON. One of six sons, and what a team you and Craig became!! I was so glad to have met you and your family. My heart goes out to you.
I grew up in Porterville and was also a graduate of Porterville College class of 1968. I then moved to Fresno and got my first degree at Fresno State College class of 1971.
May God Bess you and your family and give you comfort in knowing that you and Craig touched and guided so many lives. May Craig Randolph Wagner rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.
Bless you Jane & Craig for being in my life! May you and your beautiful family and all your loved ones find peace and comfort in this time of sorrow!
Much love always Carol Sickels Fuchs
