Damond Sires was born on April 12, 1974, to parents C.K. Sires and the late Roberta Sires in Waycross, Georgia. After courageously battling a long-term illness, God called him home on August 8, 2025.
He was a dedicated father, son, and brother, as well as a loving friend. Damond carried a wonderful spirit that touched everyone in every room he entered. He graduated from Waycross High School and went on to continue his education at Coastal Pines Technical College, where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice.
Damond began his career as a Correctional Officer for RYDC, where he formed lasting bonds and taught valuable lessons to many of the young people who passed through the facility. With an unmatched work ethic, he never saw any task as impossible. After his time at RYDC, in his hometown of Waycross, is where he spent the remainder of his life.
He was loved by all who knew him for his helping nature and his listening ear in times of need. Damond was a true example of what a man should be, living his life with a selfless spirit and an open heart. To his family, he was a steady foundation, and to his friends, he was a source of comfort and strength.
Damond was preceded in death by his mother Roberta Sires Brother Kendrick Morel Grandparents Adam and Ruby Manning as well as CK Sires Sr and Francis Sires.
Damond's loving spirt to be remembered by his father, Crandall Sires Jr; Step Mother Mel Sires; Two brothers, Adam Sires Sr, Craig Outler; Two Aunts, Louise Manning Emma Liggett; One Child, Akili Sires, Three nephews and One niece, Adam Sires Jr Tyreke Minick Chrishawn Hartley and Kayla Sires.
