It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Cristina Garcia Castilleja, 49, of Houston, Texas, who left this world on October 14, 2025. Cristina was born on July 28, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas, to Alejandro Castilleja Jr. and Amelia G. Castilleja.
Cristina lived a life full of love, laughter, and creativity. She graduated from the University of Houston–Downtown with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and went on to build a rewarding career as a Accounting Supervisor for The Society for Pediatric Research . Her dedication, kindness, and warm spirit made a lasting impression on everyone she worked with.
On January 16, 2016, Cristina married the love of her life, Ernest Caballero. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with love, joy, and countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Cristina had a gift for bringing people together. She loved crafting and took great pride in decorating for the holidays-especially Halloween and Christmas, which she turned into magical celebrations. She enjoyed playing bingo, football squares, and lotería, and was always up for a trip to the casino or a fun night of card games with family and friends. Her laughter was contagious, and her joyful energy lit up every room she entered.
Cristina is preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro Castilleja Jr and Amelia G. Castilleja, and her brother, Alejandro Castilleja III. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ernest Caballero, and a large circle of loving family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Cristina will be remembered for her caring heart, her creativity, and the way she made every moment special. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave will continue to live on in our hearts.
