Predeceased by his parents, Gaetano and Francesca Maenza; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rosario and Francesca Trovato; sister and brother-in-law, Pina and Frank Viavattene; brother-in-law, Joe Biuso; brother-in-law Leonardo Stabile. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Carmela "Lina" (Trovato) Maenza; children, Gaetano (Antonietta) Maenza, Franca (Rich) Dussé, and Tina Bonfiglio (Paul Siena); grandchildren, Marissa Maenza (Justin Hersey), Elena Maenza, Cristofero Maenza, Alyssa Dussé, Christopher Dussé, Cristina (Devin) Huussen, Nicholas Bonfiglio, Sara Bonfiglio; future great granddaughter, Hadley Carmela Huussen; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Carmela Maenza; sister, Sandy Biuso; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Filippa Stabile, Cettina (Cristofero)

Chris was born on January 3, 1933, in Valguarnera, Sicily. He served in the Italian army and worked as a barber until he immigrated to the U.S. in 1960 at the age of 27. He married Lina in 1965, and they went on to have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. Chris was co-owner of Gates Barber Shop, Charisma Unisex Salon, and Charisma Jewelers. He and his wife were snowbirds for 20 years in their second home in Hobe Sound, FL. He was an avid runner and an enthusiastic gardener. Chris was a member of the Valguarnera Society, recipient of the 2023 Italian Civic League Outstanding Service Community Award, and a long-time parishioner of St. Lawrence Church. Chris was happiest when surrounded by friends and family, playing cards and entertaining them with the saxophone and guitar.
Chris was an incredibly wise, loving, loyal, and generous husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He will be so dearly missed.
Friends may call MONDAY from 3:00-7:00 PM at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Tuesday, October 15, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM at St. Theodore Church, 168 Spencerport Road. Entombment, White Haven Memorial Park.
