Crystal Geer Obituary

Born on February 27, 1988 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma Chrystal lived a life marked by compassion, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. From an early age, Crystal embodied a spirit of kindness that would define her throughout her life. Known affectionately as "Nighting-Gail", she dedicated herself to the role of caregiver- a calling that reflected her deep empathy and boundless heart. Whether offering comfort to those in need or simply sharing a warm smile with a stranger, Crystal never hesitated to extend love and support wherever it was needed. On February 16, 2024, Crystal and the love of her life, Tim Overturf, welcomed their daughter Ariana into the world. Becoming a mother brought Crystal immense joy and purpose- a reflection of the same nurturing spirit she shared with so many throughout her life.
Crystal is survived by her loving mother Kimberly Geer-Herrin of West Frankfort, IL; her father Gary Hulsey of Pauls Valley, OK; her cherished daughter Ariana; her sister Alicia Ragan of West Frankfort, Illinois; brother Christopher Burdi of Kernersville, NC; special aunt and uncle Elizabeth and Alan Thomas of Logan, IL; uncle James Geer of West Frankfort, IL; special cousins Breanna (Nick) Kriaris of Benton, IL; nephews Hunter and Hudson Ragan of West Frankfort, IL and Landon Kriaris of Benton, IL; nieces Cidney and Halle Ragan of West Frankfort, IL; Heidi Hopper of West Frankfort, IL; and Madison Thomas of Vernon Hills, IL.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Jimmy and Linda Geer of Orient, IL; brother Tyler Burdi of Kernersville, NC; and special cousin Travis Thomas of Logan, IL.
For all 37 years and 196 days of her life, Crystal gave freely from the depths of her heart. As we mourn her passing and celebrate her memory, we are reminded of the words from Ecclesiastes 3:1- "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday September 24, 2025 in the Denning Cemetery on the Orient Road at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at Union Funeral Home West Frankfort, IL.
