Crystal LaWanda Pamplin

Crystal LaWanda Pamplin, age 57, of Killeen left this earthly life after a long battle with Breast Cancer on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Advent Health Central Texas. Crystal was born on the 9th day of November 1967 in Toledo, OH to her parents Thomas Lee and Imogene (McCullough) Holmes.
Crystal grew up in Toledo, OH, where she graduated from Rogers High School in 1985 before moving to Texas in 1996. While her time in Toledo, OH, she attended Trinity Faith Tabernacle. Crystal began her professional life as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), driven by an innate desire to care for others. Later, Crystal embraced her passion for beauty and transformation by becoming a licensed cosmetologist. Crystal had a true passion for braiding hair, finding joy and creativity in every twist and braid, turning it into an art form that made others feel beautiful and cherished. Crystal had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, often filling the room with her favorite songs, bringing joy and harmony to everyone. Crystal eventually settled down in Bell County in 2002 after living in several places throughout Texas. She would cross paths with a special friend, Thomas Jones, and the two would become inseparable for the next twelve years. Crystal had a heart that knew no bounds-she loved everyone she met, offering kindness and warmth to all, whether a stranger or someone she'd known for years. She poured endless love into raising her four granddaughters. Crystal's strength extended far beyond her caregiving; for nine years, she bravely fought breast cancer, showing the world, she was not only a huge fighter but also the strongest person ever. Crystal will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.
Crystal was preceded in death by her father Thomas Lee Holmes, brother Thomas Holmes, and grandson Breon.
Crystal leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Brandon (Rhatasha) Holmes of Temple, daughter Breanne (Tidetrius) Russell of Killeen, Mother Imogene Holmes of San Antonio, and sisters Carmen (Cyril) Day of Toledo, and Portia Holmes of San Antonio. She also had four grandchildren: Aaniyha, Alayna, Da'Zarea, and Ta'Kyra as well as two great-grandchildren: Ja'Zaryen and Kae'Lynn.
Memorial services for Crystal will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11 o'clock a.m.
