George Edwin Pamplin

George Edwin "Eddie" Pamplin Passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the age of 74, in Dermott, AR. Eddie was born to James and Lila Mae (Hoover) Pamplin on July 28, 1951. He was a 1969 graduate of Dermott High School. Eddie enlisted to the Marine Corp right out of high school, serving from 1969-1971, plus four years Active Reserve. He moved to Texas and retired from the Texas Department of Corrections after 20 plus years. He returned to Dermott to make his home and marry the love of his life, Jo Tucker, where he retired from Riceland Foods after 16 years.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Mary Jo Pamplin; and a brother, John Mac Pamplin.
He is survived by his son, Justin Meyers (Mellisa); daughters, Wendi Fortenberry (James), Amanda Hammond (Pierce); brothers, David Pamplin (Linda) and Joey Pamplin (Nancy); nephews, Bret McKiever (Alidya), James David Pamplin (Michelle), and Trey Pamplin; and lastly to those he was most proud of and who always brought a smile to his face-his grandchildren, Dorion, Drake, Kamdyn, Aydn, Kylan, Jacy, Gavin, Dylan, Kayli, Connor; and his great granddaughters, Reese and Addison.
Eddie loved his children, grandchildren, and family unconditionally. He never met a stranger and could always bring laughter into any situation. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
A private Memorial is planned during the Thanksgiving holiday. Anyone wishing to do a memorial may remember Eddie's love for his dogs and give to Paws and Claws Humane Society, P.O. Box 238, McGehee, AR 71654.
