Crystal M. Peterson

Crystal M. Peterson (nee: Camargo), 41, of Montclair, N.J., passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Born in Newark, N.J., she lived in Montclair. She was a member of the Liquid Church in Parsippany, N.J. A proud cosmetologist, Crystal loved her profession and teaching new students the art of cosmetology. She was employed by the Essex County Donald M. Payne, Sr. School of Technology as a cosmetology teacher, a position that she enjoyed immensely. Her greatest joy in life, though, was spending time with her three children, who she loved very much.
Beloved mother of Kyna Peterson and Luis and Leilani Suarez; loving and devoted daughter of Blanca Villalta Cardenas and the late Luis Camargo; cherished sister of Joe (Tara) and Vicky Villalta Moran, Hayder (Jamie), Nancy, William, David Camargo, Linda Cartaya (Armando), Norah Valencia (Nelson) and Janet Wahba (Tim); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 3 - 9 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. A Funeral Service will be offered on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Liquid Church, 1441 Ratzer Road, Wayne, N.J. 07470. Kindly gather directly at the church for the service. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Crystal may be made to Access Family Services, afsnj.org, in support of assisting victims of domestic violence.
