C.S. Denson, passed away suddenly on July 29, 2025, in his home in Canton, Michigan, at the age of 81. Surrounded by his loving family during his final moments.

C.S. was born on September 4, 1943, in Enid, Mississippi to late Fred Cosby and Ora Denson. In 1952 he moved to Detroit, Michigan, with his late Uncle Andrew and Aunt Clemmie Denson through High School completion in 1962 from Northwestern High School.

C.S. lived a full and vibrant life characterized by his strong work ethic. A hard working and dedicated man, he was employed at Ford Motor Company where he proudly helped assemble the world-famous Mustang for 30 years. Though he often spoke of wanting a Mustang his heart belonged with the Lincoln town car, he proudly owned 2 of them.

At a very young age C.S. was a field laborer working in the cotton fields with his Aunt Clemmie in Mississippi. He expressed how CIemmie would carry him in a sack/apron. As she picked cotton, he would do the same. When Clemmie turned in her sack to be weighed, the landowner would always take what he had in his hand and without weighing it he was paid a penny. Later in Detroit, he was a newspaper carrier, and a milk man for Twin Pines Dairy. While he was delivering milk, on West Grand Boulevard in the upper-scale apartment complexes, the ladies loved his charisma and warm smile and would always give him a tip.

In addition to his work at Ford, his greatest hobby was the time he spent running his own business of 50 years which he named "7-11 Carpet Cleaning". His drive for success and the ability to sell his cleaning services would shine brightly through the customer service he provided. This is what made 7-11 Carpet Cleaning business well known throughout Southeast Michigan, where it remains recognized to this day.

C.S. was the eldest of his siblings: proceeded in death, E.V. Madkins, Ora Lee Madkins-Cox, Betty Denson-Walker, proceeded in death Andrew Denson Jr., Matary Madkins-McWilliam, proceeded in death Lanell Madkins-Chapman, Rose Marie "Rita" Berry-Mills and Karl Denson.

He was a devoted and loving father to his children Anthony Hamilton, Wanda Daniel (Eric), Sheree Patterson (Berry), C.S. Denson Jr. (Frances). C.S. met and married the love of his life Paulette, who he called "Puddin". In this union of Marriage, he continued his family by adding 3 girls. Nicole Denson-Sogbaka (Christian), Deidra Denson and Alyssa Rodriguez (Chuy).

Together, they formed a beautiful and blended family which included C.S. as a proud grandfather of 16 Grandchildren: Brandon, Erica, Sade', Blake, Bryce, Charles, Anthony II, Hollis, Carlotta, T'ion, Dominique, Chloe, Briana, Sophia, Amaiya and Christabel.

His legacy continued through 11 Great Grandchildren: Brandon Jr., LA, Brooklynn, Skylar, Bryce, Chasity, Anthony III, Amauri, Colton, Trevion, and Emilia.

C.S. cherished time with his family by attending graduations, from kindergarten through college, dance recitals, sports, birthday parties, school plays, sleep overs, family BBQs, playing cards and simple dinners at home. He loved being present and his schedule was always full of family joy.

As a child C.S. attended and was baptized at Sweet Home M.G. Church in Detroit Michigan where he also sang in the male chorus. Currently, he was a member of Full Gospel Temple in Westland, Michigan for 38 years. In June of 2025, in what would be his final ministry he served in was with the boys in the Royal Rangers program. Weekly he would teach them and read the kids bible stories. He also went on a camp experience for 4 days sleeping on a bunk bed in a wooden cabin with 40 campers. The boys expressed how much they enjoyed spending time with C.S. But what they did not know is he expressed he may have enjoyed it even more than the boys and wanted to go next year.

C.S. loved to travel with the family and visited many places: Alaska, Hawaii, England, Wyoming, Chicago, Florida, Upper Peninsula, Toronto, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Arizona, Arkansas, Washington D.C., New Jesey, Delaware, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, Louisiana, Montanna, and of course Family reunions in Mississippi.

He was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers. He frequently attended the Tiger games and loved to scream "LETS GO TIGERS".

Some of C.S.'s favorite things included: his favorite color is purple, loves apple pie with vanilla ice cream, he is known for frequent naps, watching tv during those naps, his famous BBQ Ribs, he loved the Eagle, he loved the saxophone, favorite restaurants were Bob Evans/Crackel Barrel/Red Lobster, he loved the American Flag, Coke in a bottle and taking videos on his cell phone, and yes he was quite photogenic.

C.S. loved a song from the Muppets show called the "Mahna Mahna" and watch it over and over and laughed more each time he watched it. (if you don't know what it is, google it)

C.S. leaves behind a legacy of fatherly love, integrity, hard work, kindness, humor and joy. His mark on the world was one of genuine friendliness, and his memory will continue to inspire all those who were blessed to be part of his remarkable journey.

He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered and forever cherished.
