Cullen Douglas Rownd of Rochester, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on June 30th, 2024.
Cullen was born on February 23rd, 2004, in Rochester, to the parents of Barbara Cullen-Rownd and Tim Rownd. Cullen was the third born of four children. He admired and deeply loved his big brother, Will. He and Ellen shared their own unique bond as well. And baby sister, Allison.. truth be told, the addition of Allison did take Cullen some getting used to! However, as you can imagine, they became the best of friends and Cullen was always her protector and shoulder to lean on. Cullen was adored by his siblings and was hands-down, the witty one! He would often keep the room lit with laughter by cracking a joke or by his constant antics! He loved to laugh and keep everyone on their toes with his humor.
From a very young age Cullen played hard and was always making his own kind of fun. He had such a creative mind! At the age of 2 he started with big Legos, small cars, and skating. He was mechanically inclined and had no problems "fixing" his own remote-control cars and building intricate Lego creations. He loved anything he could work on and never quit creating. Throughout his life, Cullen would always show off his creations to his parents and siblings. Every time Cullen presented us with something new, you could see his face light up with pride and pure joy! He loved being a goalie. He loved to fish. He loved his airsoft guns. And everything he did he enjoyed even more with his groups of friends! He was ALL boy and loved to be constantly on the move! This led him to his passion in life, real cars and motorcycles.
In more recent years, our family witnessed Cullen growing and revealing more of the love he had in his heart. It was such a beautiful thing to see! He showed kindness in so many ways to all who entered his world. He had such a big heart and cared deeply for the people around him. His friend group was so special to him and drew in close to him. He had an infectious personality and was enjoying his passions in life! He was growing into a great young man!
Cullen was only 20 years old, and his family and friends are devastated by the untimely loss. We take comfort knowing his strong faith in the Lord, has him celebrating in Heaven with his grandpa and cousin!
Cullen is survived by his Mom, Barbara and his Dad, Tim. His 3 siblings, Ellen (fiancé Brandon), Will and Allison and his niece, Emma Woodward. His grandparents, Alice Cullen, Doug and Priscilla Rownd; Aunts and Uncles; Carolyn (Jeff) Dorney, Patrick (Shari) Cullen, Peter Cullen and Michelle (Doug) Kvall. Cousins; Ryan, Lindsay and Megan Dorney, Emma Cullen, Amanada Cullen. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Patrick Cullen and cousin, Owen Cullen.
