Currie Long

Rev. Currie Robinson Long, age 80 of Bladenboro, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Columbus County Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Hazel Long; two brothers, Horace and John Lee Long; and one sister, Rebecca Blackburn. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Adams Long of the home; sons Currie R. Long, Jr and wife Susan of Bladenboro, and Murrie Long of Bladenboro; daughters, Patricia Hester and husband Al of Bladenboro; Retta Wilkins and husband Jerry of Bladenboro; five brothers, Marshall Long and wife Sandra of Bladenboro, Jimmy Long and wife Deloris of Elizabethtown, Ralph Long and wife Martha of Bladenboro, Donald Long and wife Sherry of Bladenboro, and Stanley Long and wife Robin of Tobermory; a sister, Janice Lewis of Bladenboro; eight grandchildren, Richard and Robin Long, Roman and Jennifer Long, Amanda and Stephen Hales, Trista Hester, Stephen Hester, Jennie and Kenny Godwin, Kriston Wilkins and Jerry (Bo) Wilkins; and four great grandchildren, Ethan Hales, Haylie Robinson, Katelynn Robinson, and Farrah Hester.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Services will be conducted on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandy Grove Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Jerry "Bo" Wilkins, Rev. Larry Hayes, Rev. Jerry Beck, Rev. Charlie Tatum. Burial will follow at Long Cemetery.
