Curt Gloudemans, 39, of
Appleton, WI, passed away after a courageous seven-year battle with liver cancer on January 25, 2025. He faced his journey with strength and resilience, experiencing a period of remission following a liver transplant in 2019.
Born and raised in Grand Chute, Wisconsin Curt was known for his warm spirit, hardworking, and unwavering loyalty to his friends. He found joy in bringing people together, especially through his love of cooking. Whether it was at a local restaurant or preparing a homemade meal, he cherished the moments spent sharing food and laughter with those he loved. Curt enjoyed the warmer weather Wisconsin had in the summer but was especially fond of the dry Arizona heat and was planning to move soon to Arizona so he could stay warm and enjoy all that Arizona offered.
A devoted Wisconsin sports fan, Curt proudly supporting the Packers, Bucks, and Brewers. One of his most cherished memories was attending Game 6 of the Milwaukee Bucks 2021 NBA Championship win, a moment he would talk about with pride. Most recently, he had the unforgettable experiences of attending a cold Packers game in a warm suite and a Bucks game to meeting Giannis Antetokounmpo, a player he deeply admired. No matter where he was, Curt could always be found cheering on his teams, surrounded by fellow fans who shared his passion. He was passionate about music and loved an opportunity to attend concerts, always seeking out live performances that brought energy and excitement.
Curt also had a love for movies, especially the Harry Potter series. Whether watching them at home or sharing the magic with friends and family, he enjoyed escaping into the world of Hogwarts and reliving the adventures of his favorite characters.
He worked at Creative Metal Products in Neenah and a few local restaurants over the years, where he built strong friendships and was known for his hard work and dedication. Curt enjoyed the challenges of learning new tasks and helping his fellow coworkers get the job done.
Curt leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his parents, Julie and Wayne; his brother, Craig, and sister-in-law, Kim; and his two adored nieces, Claire and Kendra. He will also be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends who were like family to him.
He is proceeded in death by grandparents Gerry and Clarence Smits, Valeria and Peter Gloudemans and aunt Sheri Gloudemans.
Curt lived his life with enthusiasm, kindness, and an appreciation for the simple joys; good food, great music, and cheering on his teams with those he loved. His legacy of friendship and perseverance will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Curt's life where family and friends can come together to share memories and honor the incredible person he was will be held on Thursday, February 6th, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to Spierings Cancer Foundation and the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer or MACC Fund.
You are encouraged to wear your favorite sports team attire to his celebration on February 6th in honor of Curt.
Thank you to Chaplain Josh, Nurse Dariya, and Nurse Katie and the whole hospice team at Moments Hospice and the countless nurses and doctors at Froedert in Milwaukee that supported Curt through his courageous battle over the last seven years. The thoughtful and special care that you gave Curt allowed him to fight harder.
Rest easy, Curt. Your spirit will forever be with us, cheering from the best seat in the house.
