Gary J. Gloudemans, age 78, passed away at his home on October 9, 2025. Gary was born on September 25, 1947, in Appleton, WI. He graduated from Xavier High School in Appleton and then went into the Army. After returning from his service in 1969, he began a career at Miller Electric, working there for 25 years before retiring. Gary and Sheri married in 1971, built their home and began their family. Together they traveled, laughed, danced and loved each other with their whole hearts.
In his retirement years, Gary enjoyed sharing a morning cup of coffee with his friends, hearing their stories and, on occasion sharing some of his own. Never one to toot his own horn, he was a quiet man who provided faithfully for his family, often working two jobs to ensure his family had what was needed. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and his love for Sheri was legendary. Family was truly his number one priority. Gary missed Sheri every day since her passing in 2020, and finally, they are reunited.
He also was a fantastic mechanic, starting his own business from home. Always ready to help others with vehicle repairs, lawnmowers, snowblowers or anything with a motor in it. Gary had a couple cool, old cars that he would take to the Iola Car show and enjoyed going to local car shows with his friends. Later in life he purchased a motorcycle and would have a blast going on riding adventures with his biking buddies.
Gary will be sadly missed by his daughters: Denise (Troy) Jesse of Pine River and Jane (Bob) Krueger of Appleton, granddaughters: Chloee and Brynn Krueger, sister Eileen (special friend Gregg) Mannebach, brothers James (Susan) Gloudemans and Wayne (Julie) Gloudemans; sister-in-law Wendy Olson, one brother-in-law David (Mary) Koepsel; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sheri; his parents Peter and Valeria; as well as father and mother-in-law William and Audrey Koepsel.
A funeral mass for Gary will take place on Friday October 17, 2025, at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E Fremont Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:00am until the service begins. Gary will be laid to rest at St John’s Cemetery, Menasha.
