Curtis D. Holland was born on October 21, 1942, to the late Howard G. Holland and Susan E. Holland. He transitioned on August 7, 2025.
He was raised in Albemarle County, Cobham, Virginia, and attended public school.
Curtis joined the United States Navy in March 1963 and retired in March 1983 with an Honorable Discharge. The majority of his retirement was spent in Norfolk, Virginia.
Curtis was a strong, independent, intelligent man. He had many talents and skills. Cooking was one of his favorites. He consistently practiced fulfilling his purpose in life, which was to help others, especially those in need.
His memories will be celebrated by: Sisters Maxine Holland, Ernestine M. Holland-Murray; brother, George H. Holland (Regina); sons, Jerry Holland, Curtis Holland, Howard Holland, Anthony Britt, and Tony Britt; and forever and dedicated friends, cousins Ernest Bates, Celester Haynes, Benton Collins, and Marie Collins Martinette.

To the Holland family, we at D. D. Watson offer our most sincere sympathy and condolences. Our prayer continues to be that your abiding faith in God will lend to you a measure of comfort that will strengthen and sustain you during your time of sorrow.

It is during such times as these that we draw upon our faith, stand upon our scriptures and rely upon our God. There is no question that in this and through this, God will keep you, comfort you and sustain you. You and your family are forever in our prayers.
