Curtis J. Johnson, 62 of Aledo, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport. Private family services will be held with burial in Norwood Cemetery, Norwood, Illinois. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family.
Curtis was born on January 16, 1963, in Aledo, Illinois to James C. “Butch” & Nancy Carol (Hall) Johnson. The family moved to the Chicago area, where Curt graduated from New Trier High School. He enjoyed the Wilmette area, where he painted for many years and before retirement he tended bar for the American Legion. After Curt moved “home” to Aledo, he enjoyed fishing, especially with family, watching movies and playing Dungeons & Dragons. He also was an avid collector.
Curt is survived by his extended Hall and Johnson families including Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, a Great-Niece, many cousins and a brother-in-law, Scott Symons. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Paul May and a sister, Christy Symons.
