Curtis was born in Grenola, Kansas. He owned and operated Precision Profiling, Inc in Wichita, Kansas from 1978-1998. Alongside his business career, Curtis was a dedicated cattle rancher, faithfully running Kempton Ranch throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin E. Kempton and Doris J. Kempton.
Curtis is survived by his beloved wife Gerry E. Kempton; daughters Valerie Mann (Brandon Mann) and Susan Thorne-Thomsen (Carl Thorne-Thomsen), and son Curtis Kempton, Jr. (Natalie Kempton). His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Kinsey Cahill, Corey Mann, Patrick Cahill, Avery Cahill, Delaney Cahill, Ian Thorne-Thomsen, Ava Thorne-Thomsen, Ella Thorne-Thomsen, Carlie Kempton, Kate-Elisabeth Kempton, Janie Kempton, and Chase Kempton. He is also survived by a sister, Kathleen Zimmers of Moline, Kansas.
Curtis will be remembered for his enduring love for his wife and family, tireless work ethic, and deep dedication to his land.

I got to know Curtis and his wife when I started making sales calls on their machining business many years ago and watched them grow the business into a very big and well respected aerospace related parts supplier. I did get to enjoy many lunches and conversations about business, family and growing up in Grenola. May he rest in peace!
