Curtis Lamont Kimbrough Jr., beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. passed away on January 15, 2026, in his lifelong hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on August 3, 1981, in Indianapolis, where he spent his childhood growing up in West Indianapolis, graduating from Emmerich Manual High School.
Throughout his life, Curtis was known for his vibrant personality, often described as the life of the party and a prankster who could brighten any room with his infectious humor. His spirit was boundless, and whether it was on the basketball court or cheering for his favorite Raiders team, he embraced his passions with enthusiasm that inspired those around him.
Curtis worked at Circle City Office Pros shortly before his passing, but he held many other jobs throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving children, McKiyla, Makayla, Curtis III, Kayden, and Kyrie, who will cherish their father’s memory and the lessons he instilled in them. Curtis was also a proud grandfather to Tinsley and Meziah, who brought him immense joy. He will be deeply missed by his father, Curtis Sr. (Debora), as well as his siblings, AJ, Tiauna (Jeffrey), SImone; and niece Ayla, who will carry forward the legacy of laughter and love he shared with them.
Curtis is preceded in death by his mother, Diane Bond; his grandmother, Ester Simmons; and his aunt, Nicole Lane. These family members will be remembered for their love and the profound impact they had on Curtis's life.
Visitation and funeral services for Curtis will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions at 925 East Hanna Avenue in Indianapolis on January 30, 2026. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest following the service at Concordia Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the remarkable life of Curtis Kimbrough Jr., a man who leaves behind cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of many.
