Curtis Bess Mackey, who was also known as "Curtis Garrison", was born on January 28th, 1973 in Ocala, FL to the late Barbara Ann Mackey and Curtis Garrison. He was a lifelong resident of Gainesville, FL, and attended Eastside High School. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching sports. Curtis was a true Gator Fan.
Throughout his career, Curtis worked within the restaurant industry. He devoted twenty years to Sony's BBQ as a cook and catering associate, where he shared good times and laughs. Curtis became a pertinent part of their daily operations as well as a loved member of the Sony's family.
Curtis was preceded in death by: his mother, Barbara Ann Mackey; father, Curtis Garrison; grandparents, Isaac & Angelee Mackey and Sylvester & Addie Pearl Garrison; brother, Berdette Mackey.
On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, Curtis transitioned from this life.
He is survived by and leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 19 years, Katrina Hamilton; three children, Devondre Hamilton-Lillie, Cemaria Mackey, & Trintan Mackey; three siblings, Samantha Mackey, Serena Still, and Toya Capers; honorary mother, Mrs. Vivian Smith (Leon) who raised him from an infant; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Curtis' spirit will live on and he will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
