Curtis Beal Masters, age 69, of McCormick, passed away on August 5, 2025. Born on May 17, 1956, in Pickens, SC, Curtis lived a life marked by simplicity, hard work, and unwavering faith. He spent his formative years in the heart of South Carolina before settling in McCormick, where he called home. Curtis was a dedicated auto body mechanic at Masters Body Shop Services, a testament to his passion for cars. A man of faith, he loved the Lord and attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple Church in Starr, SC, whenever he could. His connection to his faith gave him strength throughout his life. In his younger days, he enjoyed sports and working hard. Surviving are his three children; Farrah (Cy) Goforth; Christopher (Lindsey) Masters and Dena Masters. Multiple grandchildren: C.J., Hannah, Sully, Kara, Holden, Karlee and Kaylin; his cherished sister, Lynda Waldrop; three nephews, Robert & TK Waldrop and Troy S. Masters; seven nieces, Kim Day, Teresa Smyth, Denise (Donny) Jackson, Cindy (Brian) Huggins, Jaime (Marce) Bruce, Christine (Marty) Carol, and Tammie Graham; and numerous extended family and friends. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Devrow & Gertrude Gilstrap Masters; two brothers, Troy & Richard Masters; and his brother-in-law, James Waldrop. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: Gethsemane Baptist Temple Church, 6116 SC-81, Starr, SC 29684 in memory of Curtis Masters.
